AEDO Accreditation
The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced in November, 2011 that the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance has again been recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). Originally accredited in 1996, the organization was reaccredited in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008, and 2011. Following three more successful years as an AEDO, the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance has again been designated the only accredited economic development organization in the State of Indiana.
"The Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance displays the professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor," said IEDC President and CEO, Jeff Finkle.
The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held standards in the profession. The program consists of two phases: documentation review and an onsite visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, program, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.
"Earning the AEDO accreditation tells the community and prospects that the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance attained a measure of excellence assuring that their trust is well placed and their business is in good hands," added Finkle.
There are over 12,000 economic development organizations in the United States and Canada.
