Academy for Community Leadership
The Academy for Community Leadership (ACL) is a vehicle to promote our community, its leaders, and the industries they serve while providing valuable networking opportunities for participants. Over the course of ten weekly sessions, participants are exposed to our local history, business community, government, health care, cultural awareness, education, and more.
For 46 years, community leaders have participated in this beneficial program. Over the course of 10 weeks, participants can expect an engaging, interactive experience where they network with fellow classmates and speakers, hear from community leaders in various industries, learn more about Muncie-Delaware County, and participate in a community service project.
The 2022 program will begin on Thursday, September 7th and continue each Thursday through November 9th, 2023.
The 2022 class is now forming. If you are interested in participating in, please reach out to Brenda Brumfield at 765-751-9127 or firstname.lastname@example.org or download the application form.
“There is so much more to a City than Main Street. This program gives participants the
opportunity to learn “the rest of the story.” I feel now fully engaged with my city and willing to
help.” – Cyndy Kern, IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital
“Because of the ACL, I feel I have a better understanding of Muncie, Delaware County and the
it’s rich culture and history. I have learned so much and would encourage anyone living in the
area to participate in this program.” – Daniel Gurulé, Erskine Green
“ACL has been one of the best experiences I have had since moving to Muncie. I am thankful
for the time, dedication, and information provided by so many leaders in the community.”
– Caitlin Zink, Ivy Tech Community College
