The Economic Development Alliance of Muncie-Delaware County has announced that Sort Pro Holdings has located in 56,000 square feet at the former Marsh Supermarket warehouse at 9511 West Depot Street, Yorktown, Delaware County, Indiana.
Sort Pro Holdings is a national packaging material sorting and storage company servicing major can manufacturers and branded fillers whose products fill store shelves across the country.
“Ownership is very pleased to host Sort Pro Services,” said Jay Chu of Tao Properties. “We have renovated the existing space at the former Marsh warehouse for modern, food-grade use to support Sort Pro’s term commitment and new Delaware County operation.” David Atkinson, Vice President of Sort Pro stated, “The investment being made by Tao Properties to improve the complex to food-grade compliance, the convenient location to Sort Pro’s client base, and the competitive rental rate were the defining factors to relocate our Indiana operation to Delaware County.”
Traci Lutton, Vice President of the Economic Development Alliance of Muncie-Delaware County was instrumental in introducing Sort Pro’s site selection team to the property and providing clarity and confidence that the necessary improvements and critical delivery timeline could be met.
The West Depot Street, multi-tenant complex property currently hosts East-Terra Plastics in a portion of the space. Tao Properties has invested significant funds to upgrade the unit Sort Pro is occupying to food-grade compliance. The improvements include new offices, restrooms, life-safety to meet current code, as well as new truck docks. Upon completion, and at 22’ clear height, with ample electric and utility infrastructure, the space will be functional for a wide variety of warehouse, distribution or production use.
According to Mr. Chu, “Tao Properties is anxious to invest further funds for improvements in the balance of the remaining vacant units to host additional operating businesses in 2026.”
The remaining units available to be tenanted at the complex range from 10,000 to 100,000 square feet, contiguous, with trailer dock loading.
