AEDO Accreditation

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced in October, 2015 that the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance has again been recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). Originally accredited in 1996, the organization was reaccredited in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, and 2015. Following three more successful years as an AEDO, the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance has again been designated the only accredited economic development organization in the State of Indiana, and one of only 62 in the US and Canada. In addition, the Alliance is the longest-standing AEDO in the country.

About AEDO

The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held standards in the profession. The program consists of two phases: documentation review and an onsite visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, program, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.

Earning the AEDO accreditation tells the community and prospects that the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance attained a measure of excellence assuring that their trust is well placed and their business is in good hands.

There are more than 12,000 economic development organizations in the United States and Canada.
